About Yaptor

Yaptor helps you compare products and choose what to buy, and what not to buy, before you head to Amazon.com. We bring together clear product facts, plain-English buying guides and honest advice, so you can spend less time second-guessing and more time using the gear you picked.

Who we are

Yaptor is run by the team at Tall Trees Leisure. We have been working in outdoor activities and sports since 1988, and we also run Yorkshire Outdoor Activity Park, the outdoor and sports store YPC, the outdoor buying-guide site Fat Bobs and the outdoor activity booking agency Daysorted.

Between us we have decades of hands-on experience running outdoor activities, choosing and maintaining equipment that gets used hard every day, and building computers and websites. We use a lot of the kind of equipment we write about, so when we say what matters, it comes from real use.

Why we started Yaptor

Shopping online for gear is harder than it should be. Listings are long, specifications are hard to compare and it is easy to pay for features you will never use, or miss the one detail that matters. We started Yaptor because we can genuinely help: after more than three decades in the outdoor and sports industries, we know what makes a product a good buy and what to avoid.

How we help you choose

  • Plain-English buying guides that start with the short answer, then explain what to compare and why, common mistakes to avoid and a checklist to take with you.
  • Clear product facts taken from each listing, laid out so products are easy to compare side by side. We do not invent or inflate details.
  • Experience where it counts. Where our own use of a type of equipment helps, we say what we have learned.

How we make money

Yaptor does not sell anything directly. When you follow a link and buy on Amazon.com, Amazon handles the price, payment, delivery and returns. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. This costs you nothing extra, and our guides are written to help you choose well, not to push a particular product.
